Traveling Mount – Leveling Guide
If you are planning to get a new flying mount this expansion you may want to consider getting a travel form as fast as possible. These flying mounts come in all different shapes and sizes and the flying mount talent can make or break the flying mount race choice for each race. With this type of mount your main objective is to travel from one place to another as quickly as possible and at the same time as safely as possible.
Travel Form is an instant druid unique shapeshifting ability available at level 20. When it comes to traveling from one location to the next the travel form is pretty much the only option, and it can be used by all races. The travel form allows the druid to travel faster depending on the terrain.
Level 2 Travel Form is unlocked at level 40, allowing Travel Form to gain an extra 60% movement speed when in the air version, effectively turning it into an instant epic flying mount. This allows for a quick escape from a dangerous situation or combat scenario. Level 6 Travel Form increases the speed of the mount while it is traveling to the destination.
Travel Form can be purchased from the shop after purchasing the other flying mounts and the flying boots. The flying boots allow the druids to glide while flying and can be purchased separately. You will need to learn how to fly before purchasing the other two items to use with your flying mount. Once all items have been purchased the flying mount talent can be used to change from one flying form to another. You can also use this ability to switch back to the ground form as a traveling form.
The reason for learning Travel Form at a high level is because it allows you to change between the different flying forms as quickly as possible. If you are playing in a battle you want to be able to change from a flying mount to a land mount and then back again without having to wait a long time. By learning travel form you can do this quickly and easily while playing the game. In a combat scenario where you want to travel from one location to another quickly the instant flight form is your best bet. However, if you are using the flying boots for travel form then you will have to wait a few seconds until you have the ability to get in the air before you can change between land and air form.
As you can see there are many advantages to the flying mount as a traveling form of transportation and the best thing to do is start with a flying mount and level up the other flying mounts to travel form quickly. With that said, once you have the ability to fly you will find that you are a flying mount master and the traveling form will never be a bad option.
