Eyebrow Hair Implants Facts You Need

Is getting eyebrow hair implants painful? This is a common question of people who are interested in getting eyebrow implants and this is something that should be immediately addressed. A lot of people instantly assume that eyebrow implantation can cause a lot of pain because the hair is required to be removed from the scalp of the patient and it is inserted into the skin of the eyebrow area to make it possible to re-shape the eyebrow. By imagining it, the procedure seems painful but the truth is your surgeon is going to numb your skin by using a local anesthetic. This means that your possible discomfort is minimized during the actual procedure.  You are still wide awake but the anesthetic will prevent you from feeling any pain.

Another concern is about the actual procedure itself. In the mid-part of the 20th century, the person who would receive hair implants would be required to have a portion of their scalp removed in order to harvest living and healthy hair follicles. This process needed an incision to be created by the surgeon and stitches were done to close up the area of the scalp where the skin had been removed. Once the hair follicles were prepped and ready, the surgeon would need to make another set of small incisions in the balding or thinning area to make the implantation of hair follicles possible. Sewing and cutting were required in two different portions of the patient’s scalp. For this reason, there was too much pain to deal with during the healing period because the nerves in this area of the head are extremely sensitive.

The modern technique used for hair transplantation does not need any sewing and cutting like the old technique used in the 50’s. At present, a special medical device is utilized to remove individual hair follicle so there’s no need to create any incisions. The patient has to deal with small pin prick wounds that can heal very fast after the procedure is done. The same medical tool is utilized for implanting the hair. A tiny hole is left behind but this immediately seals up. Also, sewing is no longer needed.

If what’s stopping you now is the possible pain cause by eyebrow transplants, then there’s nothing that can stop you now. Eyebrow hair implants are often linked with very little discomfort and whatever mild discomfort you are going to feel is worth it once you see the beautiful shape of your eyebrows, which you’ve always wanted.
