Sometimes buying an electric guitar can be very difficult indeed. You need to know that you are buying the right guitar and once you have figured out which one to buy you also need to get all of the necessities and accessories that go with it.
If you want to get rocking straight away you are going to need the following;
- The electric guitar itself
- A tuner to help ensure that your guitar is perfectly in tune before you begin playing.
- Picks or plectra with which to play your guitar.
- An amplifier to amplify the sound of the guitar.
- A guitar lead or cable to connect the guitar and the amplifier
- A guitar strap to keep the guitar safely around your neck.
- A case to carry your guitar around without fear of damaging it.
- Perhaps some spare strings just in case the ones on your guitar break
- Some tuition books, DVDs or CDs to help you learn the basics of the guitar so that you can begin putting your kills and knowledge to the test.
The trouble is If you bought all these things separately them you could be looking at a very large bill indeed. One or two hundred dollars for a guitar, maybe $40-$50 for a small practice amplifier, $10 for an electronic guitar tuner, $10 for a guitar strap, $10 for a guitar lead. You see, it can all add up very quickly. You could be paying almost $300 for all of these things individually!
To get around this you can buy an electric guitar package.
With an electric guitar package you get all of the things you need to be able to strap your guitar on and get playing right away for a great price. An electric guitar package can cost between $150-$250 which is far cheaper than buying all of the individual items mentioned above.
Because of this, they offer superb value for money and there is a great selection of electric guitar packages available made by such reputable companies as Squier (Fender) and Epiphone (Gibson).
