Different Kinds of Striped Knee Socks
You may remember just how popular these were in the 80’s when pop icons used to wear these with their ruffled skirts and cropped tops or paired these with cut-off jeans, torn shirts and beat up sneakers. Striped knee socks seem to be making a comeback these days and this may be because of the return of the fashion of the 1980’s. Whatever the reason may be, you might want to grab yourself a pair to keep yourself in style. Before you do so however, here are some of the different kinds of striped knee highs you can choose from and the different factors that may affect your choice.
- Length – while these are called knee highs, some of these do not actually reach your knees or even go over them by a few inches. The idea is that these reach the area near your knees so they are categorized as such. The lengths can vary a lot with some reaching just below your knee, some extending a couple of inches above the knee and others ending in the very middle of your knee.
- Patterns and Colors – the stripes of these knee highs can be in solid and thick stripes or they can be in fine and thin ones. They can be zig-zagged, can run vertically or horizontally, can be made with a couple of colors or with numerous colors and can be a combination of all of these. These can also come in a lot of color combinations that include darker solid colors and lighter pastels.
- Materials – these can be made with a variety of materials although majority of striped knee highs are made with a combination of cotton spandex and cotton blends. You may be able to find wool-spandex blends that are thicker and warmer as well as spandex-nylon blends, which are thinner and sometimes almost sheer.
