Let’s Celebrate it’s Margarita Day

Margaritas are one of the United States most popular bar drinks. The margarita was the most popularly ordered drink in 2008, representing 18 percent of all mixed drink sales in the US. So why not give it a day of it’s own to celebrate this great tequila drink.   February 22 is National Margarita Day.

The Margarita was  invented in 1948 by socialite Margarita Sames. Though there is debate on the true inventor. The margarita is traditionally made with 2 parts silver tequila, 1 part orange liquor (most often Triple Sec or Cointreau), and 1 part fresh lime juice. Served over ice in a salt rimmed glass.  But, not only is there the classic margarita , we have numerous version to choose from.
